What is The Stage?
The Stage is where characters show off their best moments: photos, short videos, event looks, and portfolio-style highlights. It is designed to be character-first, so you meet the character before the person behind them.
What is a Showreel?
Every character can have a Showreel. Think of it like a portfolio or highlight reel:
- Photos and short videos you upload for that character
- Optional captions
- Optional event links (so viewers can jump straight to the event ticket)
When your character has at least one Showreel item, they will appear on The Stage automatically.
How to Add Your Character to The Stage
The Stage is powered by your character's Showreel. To add items:
- Open the Dressing Room
- Tap Manage Characters
- Tap the pencil icon on the character you want
- Scroll to The Showreel
- Tap Add Media
- Add an optional caption and event link, then save the media
- Tap Save Info, then Close
To add more items, repeat the steps above. Each upload adds one item at a time, but you can build a full Showreel over multiple uploads.
Captions and Event Badges
When you upload (or edit) a Showreel item, you can:
- Add a caption to give context (character voice, behind-the-scenes, credits, etc.)
- Link an event so the item shows an At [Event] badge
In The Stage showcase, tapping the event badge opens the event ticket.
How the Stage Grid Works
The Stage browse grid shows one card per character:
- The card cover is the character's most recently uploaded Showreel item
- A small pill shows how many items are in the Showreel (for example, 2 items)
- Tap the card to open the full character showcase and view every item
Ordering rule: Showreel items are shown newest first (by upload time). The first item in that order becomes the Stage cover image.
Important: There is currently no manual drag-and-drop reordering for Showreel items.
Reactions and Comments
Each Showreel item on The Stage can be interacted with:
- Reactions: add an emoji reaction to a specific item
- Comments: leave a comment in-character (using your active character)
Tips
- Make it readable: short captions are easier to skim
- Use event badges: linking an event helps people discover where the look was worn
- Build over time: you do not need to upload everything at once
- If order matters: upload the item you want first on Stage last (newest appears first)
Hide from Stage & Spotlight Poster
You can control which Showreel items appear on The Stage:
- Hide from Stage: In the Showreel edit modal, toggle "Show on Stage" off for any item. Hidden items stay visible in your Lanyard/Showreel but do not appear on The Stage at all.
- Spotlight Poster: Tap "Set as Stage Poster" on any item to make it the cover image on The Stage grid. Only items visible on Stage can be set as the poster.
Director's Pick & Stage Themes
Masquerading curates featured content on The Stage:
- Director's Pick: Admin-selected characters appear in a highlighted section at the top of The Stage.
- Stage Themes: Themed collections (e.g. by fandom tag) may appear as banners, grouping characters by topic or event.
Download Shareable Lanyard
Create a downloadable image of your character's lanyard card for sharing on social media. Access via the Cog menu > Download Shareable Lanyard. The image includes a QR code so others can scan to connect with your character.
