Green Room Moderation
As a Green Room owner or moderator, you have tools to manage your room and ensure a positive experience for all members.
Room Owner vs Moderator
Understanding the roles:
Room Owner
The person who created the Green Room:
- Full control over room settings
- Can assign moderators
- Can delete the room
- All moderation capabilities
Co-Star (Moderator)
Co-Stars are moderators assigned by the room owner. The term "Co-Star" reflects Masquerading's theatrical theme — they're trusted members who help run the show:
- Can moderate members and content
- Can approve/deny join requests
- Cannot change room settings
- Cannot delete the room
Moderation Tools
As a room owner or moderator, you have the following capabilities:
Owner Capabilities
Room owners can:
- Delete messages: Remove any message in the Green Room
- Manage Co-Stars: Add or remove Co-Stars (moderators) via the "Manage Co-Stars" button in room settings
- Invite characters: Send invitations to characters via DM (see Green Room Invitations)
- Edit room settings: Change room name, description, or privacy settings (via the cog icon)
- Delete the room: Permanently remove the entire Green Room
Co-Star (Moderator) Capabilities
Co-Stars can:
- Delete messages: Remove any message in the Green Room
Note: Co-Stars cannot change room settings, invite other Co-Stars, or delete the room — only the owner can do these.
Managing Co-Stars
To add or remove Co-Stars:
- Open the Green Room and tap the cog icon
- Tap "Manage Co-Stars (Mods)"
- The Manage Co-Stars screen shows:
- Current Co-Stars: Users currently assigned as moderators, with their avatar, name, and character. The room owner is marked with an "OWNER" badge
- Add Co-Star: A searchable list of users you can add as moderators, with their avatars and character names visible
- Tap "Add" next to a user to make them a Co-Star
- Tap "Remove" to revoke Co-Star status
How to Delete Messages
To delete a message in a Green Room:
- Click on the message you want to delete
- Click the "Delete" button
- The message will be removed from the Green Room
Both owners and moderators can delete any message in the rooms they manage.
