Green Room Guidelines

Green Rooms are in-character spaces. Follow these guidelines for positive interactions.

Staying In Character

Green Rooms are designed as in-character spaces, but Masquerading doesn't enforce staying in character. Our platform is a safe space for everyone to "BE WHO YOU WANT TO BE."

• Most Green Rooms encourage in-character interactions
• If you create your own Green Room, you can use it however you like—including as a group chat feature
• Respect the room owner's preferences and any rules they've set
• Use Direct Monologue for private out-of-character discussions
• Remember: Masquerading is about freedom to express yourself, whether in-character or out-of-character

Respecting Moderators

Show respect to room owners and moderators:

• Follow room rules
• Respect moderator decisions
• Don't argue with moderators publicly
• Use Direct Monologue to discuss issues privately

Each Green Room may have its own rules:

• Read the room description for guidelines
• Follow theme-specific rules
• Respect the room's purpose
• Ask if you're unsure about rules

Building Storylines

Green Rooms are for storytelling:

• Build narratives with other characters
• Respect others' storylines
• Don't force interactions
• Have fun and be creative!
