Creating a Green Room
Creating your own Green Room lets you start a space for character interactions and storytelling. Here's how to create one.
Step 1: Access Green Room Creation
Navigate to the Green Rooms section and look for the "Create Green Room" button or option.
Step 2: Choose Room Type
Select the privacy level for your Green Room:
Public
- Anyone can join immediately
- Visible in public listings
- Best for general character interactions
Request-to-Join
- Users must request to join
- You approve or deny requests
- Good for themed rooms or specific storylines
Private
- Invitation only
- Not visible in public listings
- Perfect for exclusive groups
Step 3: Name Your Green Room
Choose a name that reflects your room's purpose or theme. Make it memorable and descriptive.
Step 4: Add Description
Write a description that explains:
- What the room is for
- What kind of characters/storylines are welcome
- Any rules or guidelines
Step 5: Create the Room
Click "Create" to finalize your Green Room. You'll automatically become the room owner.
Room Ownership
As the room owner, you can:
- Moderate the room
- Approve or deny join requests
- Manage members
- Edit room settings
- Delete the room if needed
Requirements
To create a Green Room, you need:
- An active subscription (Guest Pass, Monthly, or Annual)
- At least one character created
Using Your Green Room
Your Green Room is yours to use however you want:
- In-character storytelling: Create a space for character interactions and narratives
- Group chat: Use it as a group chat feature—you don't need to be strict about staying in character in your own room
- Mixed use: Combine both approaches—let members know your preferences in the room description
Masquerading doesn't enforce staying in character. Our platform is a safe space for everyone to "BE WHO YOU WANT TO BE." If you want to use your Green Room as a casual group chat, that's perfectly fine!
Best Practices
- Choose the right privacy: Match your room type to your intended use
- Write clear descriptions: Help others understand what your room is about and how you'd like to use it
- Set expectations: Use the description to outline rules, themes, or whether it's more casual or roleplay-focused
- Be active: Engage with members to build your room's community
