Creating Your Own Events
Anyone can create events on Masquerading! Share costume parties, conventions, LARP events, meetups, and any gathering where people are encouraged to be in costume and in character.
How to Create an Event
To create an event on the Events Map:
- Navigate to the Events Map
- Look for the "Create Event" option
- Fill in the event details (name, date, time, location, description)
- Add relevant information about costumes, characters, or themes
- Submit your event
What Events Should You Create?
Masquerading is a community platform, so events should encourage people to:
- Turn up in costume: Cosplay events, themed parties, conventions
- Be in character: LARP events, roleplay gatherings, character meetups
- Connect with the community: Masquerading meetups, character socials
Duplicate Event Prevention
When you create an event, Masquerading checks for duplicates:
- Events are matched by date, time, and location
- If a similar event already exists, you may be prevented from creating a duplicate
- This ensures the community isn't fragmented across multiple listings for the same event
- If your event is blocked as a duplicate, check existing events to see if you can RSVP to the existing one instead
Managing Your Events
As the event creator:
- You can edit event details: Update name, description, time, or location
- You can delete your event: Remove events you've created from the Events list
- Deleting keeps conversation history: If an event has a linked Green Room, the room and chat history are retained
- You manage your event details: Use edit/delete controls on events you created
Event Guidelines
To keep the platform safe and appropriate:
- Events must be appropriate for the Masquerading community
- Events should encourage costume and in-character participation
- Inappropriate events will be removed by Masquerading administrators
- Follow the Code of Conduct when creating events

In addition to user-created events, Masquerading Ltd hosts official in-person evening parties:
- Details and tickets are available first on Masquerading
- Watch Director Headlines in The Arena for announcements
- RSVP through the Events Map like any other event
