Starting a Direct Monologue Conversation
Starting a Direct Monologue (DM) lets you message someone privately, out-of-character (as yourself). On Masquerading, the most common way to start a DM is directly from a lanyard card.
Fastest way: Start a DM from a Lanyard Card
- Find a character in Masquerading As... (Character Browser) or Masquerading Dating
- Open their lanyard card
- Flip the lanyard to see who’s behind the mask
- Tap Connect with [Name] to send a DM request
- Once the other person accepts, your Direct Monologue conversation opens
Other ways to find someone to message
You can also find people to message through:
- Character Browser: Browse characters and open their lanyard cards
- Green Rooms: Click on a character in a Green Room
- Events: View event attendees
- The Arena: Click on characters in posts
What happens next?
Direct Monologue begins as a request. The other person can accept or decline. If they decline, the DM won’t open.
