Consequences for Violations

If you breach our Terms & Conditions or Code of Conduct, Masquerading Ltd may take action to protect the community and maintain platform integrity.

Possible Actions

Depending on the severity and nature of the violation, Masquerading may:

1. Formal Warning

• For first-time or minor violations
• You'll receive written notice of the violation
• Explanation of what rule was broken
• Guidance on how to avoid future violations

2. Content Removal

• Delete, unpublish, or edit your content
• Removal may occur without prior notice
• Applies to posts, messages, characters, or other content

3. Temporary Suspension

• Temporarily suspend your access to the website
• Duration varies based on violation severity
• You cannot access your account during suspension
• Access is restored after the suspension period

4. Permanent Ban

• Permanently prohibit you from accessing Masquerading
• Your account will be deleted or suspended indefinitely
• You may not create new accounts to circumvent the ban
• IP address may be blocked from accessing the platform

5. Account Actions

• Suspend your account: Temporary or permanent
• Cancel your account: Delete your account entirely
• Edit your account details: Modify inappropriate usernames or profile information

6. Contact ISP

• For serious violations, Masquerading may contact your internet service provider
• Request that they block your access to the platform

7. Legal Action

• For serious violations, Masquerading Ltd may commence legal action
• This may include breach of contract claims or other legal proceedings
• Applies to violations involving illegal content, fraud, or significant harm

Factors Considered

When determining consequences, Masquerading Ltd considers:

• Severity: How serious is the violation?
• Intent: Was it intentional or accidental?
• History: First offense or repeated violations?
• Impact: Did it harm others or the community?
• Response: Did you acknowledge and address the issue?

No Circumvention

Important: If your account is suspended or banned, you must not:

• Create new accounts to bypass the suspension or ban
• Use VPNs or other methods to circumvent access restrictions
• Ask others to create accounts on your behalf

Attempting to circumvent restrictions may result in permanent ban and legal action.

Appeals and Questions

If you believe action was taken in error or have questions:

1. Prefer the in-app support ticket (open the app, click the cog, then Share Feedback)
2. Contact Masquerading support via the Contact Form
3. Include your account email address
4. Explain why you believe the action was incorrect
5. Provide any relevant evidence or context
6. Wait for a response from the Masquerading team

All appeals are reviewed, but Masquerading's decisions are made at our sole discretion.
