Taking a Break Without Deleting Your Account
If you want to take a break, the best option is to cancel your subscription and return later. This keeps your account and history safe.
Important: Pause Is Not Available
Masquerading does not currently offer a pause option for subscriptions. The recommended temporary-break flow is:
- Cancel your subscription in Stripe Customer Portal
- Keep full access until your current billing period ends
- Move to events-only viewing after expiry
- Reactivate anytime when you're ready
Do Not Delete Your Account
Cancel subscription and delete account are different:
- Cancel subscription: Stops future billing and keeps your account
- Delete account: Permanently removes your account, characters, chats, and history
If you're only taking a break, do not delete your account.
What You Keep After Cancellation
- Your account stays active
- Your characters and profile stay saved
- Your existing content remains in the system
- Events-only viewing remains available
What Changes After Cancellation
- You lose access to premium features after the billing period ends
- Green Rooms, DMs, Dating, and character creation become unavailable
- No further charges are taken unless you reactivate
How to Cancel Subscription (Without Deleting Account)
- Go to account settings
- Click Manage Subscription
- Complete cancellation in Stripe Customer Portal
How to Reactivate Later
- Return to account settings
- Click Upgrade or Subscribe
- Choose Monthly or Annual and complete checkout
- Full access is restored immediately
