Creating Your First Character

Creating your first character is the first step to joining THE Social Fiction Community. Here's how to get started:

Step 1: Access the Dressing Room

Navigate to the Dressing Room from the main menu. This is where you'll manage all your characters.

Step 2: Choose Your Creation Method

You have two options for creating characters:

Option A: Manual Character Creation

  1. Click "Create New Character"
  2. Enter your character's name
  3. Add a tagline (a short description or catchphrase)
  4. Upload an avatar image
  5. Save your character

Unlimited: You can create unlimited manual characters.

Option B: AI Avatar Generation

  1. Click "Generate AI Avatar"
  2. Enter a detailed description of your character:
    • Appearance (hair color, eye color, style)
    • Clothing and accessories
    • Character type (hero, villain, fantasy, sci-fi, etc.)
    • Any specific details you want
  3. Wait for the AI to generate your avatar (powered by Google Vertex AI image generation models)
  4. Review and accept or regenerate
  5. Add your character's name and tagline
  6. Save your character

Limit: 5 AI avatar generations per day.

Step 3: Character Profile Fields

Each character includes:

  • Name: Your character's display name
  • Tagline: A short description or catchphrase
  • Avatar: Visual representation (uploaded image or AI-generated)

Tips for Creating Great Characters

  • Be descriptive with AI: The more detail you provide, the better your AI-generated avatar will match your vision.
  • Think about your character's story: What's their background? What makes them unique?
  • Create multiple characters: You can switch between characters to explore different narratives.
  • Use your tagline wisely: It's the first thing others see—make it memorable!

  1. Switch to your new character
  2. Explore The Arena to see what's happening
  3. Join a Green Room to start interacting in-character
  4. Check out the Events Map to find events to attend
