@Mentions in Green Room Chat
You can @mention characters in Green Room conversations to reference them directly. Mentions appear as clickable links in messages, making it easy to call out specific characters or direct comments to them in busy group chats.
How to @Mention a Character
- While typing a message in a Green Room, type the @ symbol
- Start typing the character's name
- An autocomplete dropdown will appear showing matching characters
- Use arrow keys (up/down) to navigate the suggestions
- Press Enter to select a character, or click/tap their name
- The character's name will be inserted into your message
- Send your message as normal
Which Characters Can Be Mentioned?
The autocomplete only shows characters who have posted in the current Green Room. This keeps the mention list relevant and manageable:
- Only characters who have sent messages in this specific room appear as suggestions
- New characters appear in the mention list once they've posted their first message
- This prevents you from accidentally tagging characters who aren't part of the conversation
Duplicate Character Names
If two or more characters in the room share the same name, the autocomplete will display the person's first name in brackets to help you tell them apart:
- Example: Stormtrooper (Julie) and Stormtrooper (Alex)
- This disambiguation only appears when needed — unique character names show without brackets
How Mentions Look in Messages
When a message with @mentions is displayed:
- The mention appears as a bold, underlined, clickable link
- Click an @mention to open that character's lanyard card
- From the lanyard, you can view their full profile, flip to see the person behind the mask, and more
Navigating the Autocomplete
The mention dropdown supports keyboard navigation:
- Arrow Down / Arrow Up: Move through the suggestion list
- Enter: Select the highlighted character
- Escape: Close the dropdown without selecting
- You can also simply click or tap a suggestion
Where @Mentions Work
- Green Rooms: Yes — @mentions work in all Green Room conversations
- Direct Monologue (DM): No — DMs are out-of-character, one-on-one conversations, so mentions are not available
Tips
- @Mentions are in-character — you're mentioning the character, not the person
- Use mentions to direct comments, respond to specific characters, or call someone into the conversation
- If the character you want to mention hasn't posted in the room yet, they won't appear in the autocomplete — you can still type their name manually, but it won't be clickable
