Your profile settings on Masquerading are managed through your Dressing Room. Here's how to set up and customize your experience.

Accessing Your Profile Settings

All profile settings are located within the Dressing Room. Access your Dressing Room from the main menu to manage your account preferences and features.

What You Can Manage

In your Dressing Room settings, you can:

Account Information: View and manage your basic account details
Character Management: Create, edit, and switch between your characters
Masquerading Dating: Enable or disable the "Open to Connections" toggle per character (set in the Dressing Room, not the main profile)
Subscription Management: Access the Stripe Customer Portal to manage your plan

Character Visibility

All characters on Masquerading are public and visible to other users. There is currently no option to make characters private or hidden. Every character you create can be seen by the community.

Unlocking Masquerading Dating

Dating is toggled per character, not for the whole account. To enable Masquerading Dating:

Go to your Dressing Room and open Manage Characters
When creating a new character, check the "Open to Connections" toggle and add a dating tagline
For existing characters, click Edit (pencil icon) and scroll to the Masquerading Dating section
Toggle "Open to Connections" on — the Masquerading Dating menu item will appear in your navigation bar

How Dating Privacy Works

When you enable "Open to Connections" on a character:

Your dating profile is hidden from anyone who does not have dating enabled
Your dating characters only appear to other users who also have at least one character open to connections
You can disable this feature anytime by editing the character and toggling "Open to Connections" off

This ensures that dating features remain private and only visible to those actively participating.

Best Practices

Keep your account secure: Use a strong password and keep your login credentials private
Manage your subscription: Use the Stripe Customer Portal to update payment details or change plans
Be selective with dating: Only enable "Open to Connections" on a character when you're comfortable using the feature
Update characters regularly: Keep your character profiles fresh and engaging
